the hummingbird bakery by Tarek Malouf

"the hummingbird bakery" is a cupcake and muffin recipe book. It has some mouth watering recipes accompanied by some great colored pictures of most recipes. I tried the red velvet and it turned out quiet good. The presentation of the whole book is very well done however the only thing that did put me off is that the notes are in fine print where mostly you would miss it.I did not have success a the 1st attempt but when I read the details in notes and went by the measurement the reulst were fantastic. This book has some amazing recipes to try out especially the spinach and cheese muffins (it is in my to-do list for this week). Overall a nice book if followed according to author's measurement and notes. This would have been a good book if minor error's were taken care before hand.

About the Author:Tarek Malouf opened the first Hummingbird Bakery in London's fashionable Notting Hill district in 2004. This cookbook allows you to step inside this unique bakery and bring its trademark buttercream swirls, sprinkles, and layer-cake slices into your own kitchen. The Hummingbird's Cupcakes fly off the shelves faster than any other cake. Who can resist an adorable Vanilla Cupcake topped with candy-colored buttercream frosting and scattered with sprinkles? Take Cakes to the next level with some mouthwatering recipes. Red Velvet and Carrot are both favorites at the Bakery, and the Hummingbird Cake is a sweet, sticky triumph of banana and pineapple. Open Pies, pies with tops on, delicate pies and no-holds-barred pies: there's no shortage of options. Try Lemon Meringue with its mountain of golden fluffy meringue atop a rich, tangy lemon cream. You'll find favorite Pecan Pie here too. When you need a sweet fix, Brownies & Bars hit the spot. Rocky Road and Muesli Bars are always popular and make welcome additions to a packed lunch. There cant be much that beats a homemade Blueberry Muffin with your first cup of coffee in the morning. Finally, there's something childishly satisfying about a big, chewy Cookie studded with chocolate chunks–there's something here for every kind of cookie fiend.

Pros: Good presentation and beautiful colored pictures
Cons: Notes could have been written a little bigger and clearly where it is visible to avoid frustration while baking.
Overall: Nice Book
